Best long term geopolitics/news source for Afghanistan/Central Asia?

Hi. What would be the recommended sources of information to follow news, events and the international politics of Afghanistan and Central Asia.

I am looking at this for a long-term basis, suitable for academic thesis publication. Most preferable would be objective websites that have good RSS feeds.

It would also be much appreciated, if anyone could recommend some outstanding books in the matter or names of authoritative commentators in the field. Thanks!
